Liberal Arts: 44 Hours

All majors at Harding are required to complete the 47-hour Liberal Arts  program. The following Liberal Arts requirement is met within the content of the major:

• A modern foreign language satisfies 3 hours of Self and Society.

Major: 55 Hours

This major includes an embedded minor in a modern foreign language, which will be reflected on the academic transcript.

• ENG 3000 - Advanced Composition Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 3251 - British Literature I Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 3252 - British Literature II Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 3271 - American Literature I Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 3272 - American Literature II Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 4220 - Nature and History of Language Credit Hours: 3
• ENG 4510 - Senior Project I Credit Hours: (0)
• ENG 4520 - Senior Project II Credit Hours: 1
• 15 additional hours of English electives numbered 3000 or above

NOTE: 3 hours of these English electives must be chosen from one of the following Multiultural Literature Courses: (ENG 3400 , ENG 4150 , ENG 4300 , ENG 4310 , ENG 4330 , or ENG 4030  with approval of department chair)

• 18 hours of the same modern Foreign Language
