Women’s Studies Minor
|
|
Return to: College of Arts & Humanities The Women’s Studies minor helps to pave a path for multiple employment opportunities and for graduate work in various fields. Similar to other interdisciplinary programs, it opens the possibilities for multiple applications. Within a Christian context, the courses will train students to be sensitive to the needs of women, especially in occupations in which it may be common to work with large groups of women or on issues related specifically to the experiences of women. These careers include women’s health occupations, case workers with child and family services agencies, law, public policy analysts and advisors, youth and women’s ministries, domestic violence advocates and counselors, mental health counselors and therapists, law enforcement officers, educators, and more. Further, the courses in this minor will sharpen students’ research abilities, their writing skills, and their critical thinking skills.
