Requirements


Liberal Arts: 44 Hours


All majors at Harding are required to complete the 47-hour Liberal Arts  program. The following Liberal Arts requirement is met within the content of the major:

  • PSY 2010  satisfies 3 hours of Self and Society.

It is suggested that psychology majors consider the following courses:


Minor: 18 Hours


Remaining Bible/Electives: 30 Hours

Students preparing for graduate study in Clinical, Counseling, School, Human Resources/Industrial Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy are encouraged to take PSY 3850 , PSY 4010 PSY 4120 , and PSY 4350  as electives. These courses are required by most graduate programs, and, if they are not taken at Harding, they most likely will be required as leveling courses. PSY 3671  is highly recommended.

*Emphasis in medical areas (premed, prepharmacy, prephysician assistant, etc.)

Psychology undergraduate majors wishing to pursue graduate work in medical fields are urged to enroll in the core curriculum in Psychology (36 hours) and also complete the Preprofessional Health Science Major (PPHS) (Second major only), BA or BS . Psychology students wanting to do further graduate work in neuroscience may be required to take leveling courses at the chosen institution as required for admittance.
