HNRS 1030 - Honors Art and Design For students who have completed their junior year of high school. Designed to introduce prospective students to the academic programs at Harding. Students will explore the role of art and design in culture through hands-on studio projects, lecture, discussion and field trips. They will experience historical and modern image making and visual communication by viewing award winning art collections; learning skills from practicing artists and designers; and producing a student art & design exhibition. Subject matter will be examined from diverse viewpoints and a fusion of research and experiences will challenge the students to create conceptual solutions in a collaborative environment. The three credit-hour class will give three hours of honors credit, and may be later applied to fulfill either ART 1010 or ART 2320 .
This course may not be taken as a repeat for a completed liberal arts course or to satisfy an additional liberal arts requirement.
