PAS 6070 - Professional Seminar III This is a continuation of a five-semester series that spans the didactic and clinical years of the program. The course introduces students to issues surrounding cultural awareness and sensitivity pertaining to the diversity and uniqueness of populations to be encountered as health care practitioners using lectures, panel discussions, small group activities and participation in community events. Some of the topics included in this series are principles and practice of evidence-based medicine, the patient-centered method of care, PA professional organizations, critical review of the medical literature, health care costs and reimbursement issues, the evaluation of health care quality, and a focus on the delivery of health care via a team approach.
Prerequisite(s): PAS 6060 with a grade of C or higher
