The fundamentals of chemistry and physics are reinforced, and application of these fundamentals is made to practical engineering design. New material involving the laws of thermodynamics is introduced, and a wide variety of applications are made. Topics include the energy analysis of closed systems and control volumes, power generation and refrigeration cycles, and compressible flow.
