Theatre Majors

The Program Learning Outcomes for this major are:

• Students will apply fundamental production and performance skills to a public performance context.
• Students will demonstrate fundamental acting technique: movement, choreography, vocal production, and biomechanical creation of character.
• Students will demonstrate fundamental knowledge of technical theatre vocabulary and jargon.
• Students will demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the  management aspects of the production process.
• Students will demonstrate understanding of how their own personal world view and value system both shapes and is shaped by their work.
• Students will identify basic safety procedures in a shop/production environment.
• Students will identify how culture shapes and impacts dramatic expression.
• Students will identify the basic principles of visual design.
• Students will identify the employment procedures used by the seasonal/regional entertainment industry.
• Students will identify significant literature and practices from multiple time periods and cultures.
