Liberal Arts: 44 Hours
All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:
- 6 hours of the global perspectives component are met by the foreign language courses.
- 3 hours of the Individual and Social Environment component are met by EDFD 203 listed below, which is required in place of PSY 201 .
Additional recommendation:
- POLS 205 is highly recommended to meet 3 hours of the Individual and Social Environment component.

At least 20 of the 32 hours must be upper-level. FLAN 419 and FLAN 420 are also required.
During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule a Harding Oral Proficiency Evaluation (HOPE). The accepted passing level is Advanced Low. An official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview with a level of Advanced Low is required prior to granting licensure upon graduation.
