All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:
6 hours of the global perspectives component are met by the foreign language courses.
3 hours of the Individual and Social Environment component are met by EDFD 203 listed below, which is required in place of PSY 201.
Additional recommendation:
POLS 205 is highly recommended to meet 3 hours of the Individual and Social Environment component.
or any of the aforementioned French courses not used to meet another requirement

At least 20 of the 32 hours must be upper-level. FLAN 419 and FLAN 420 are also required.
During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule a Harding Oral Proficiency Evaluation (HOPE). The accepted passing level is Advanced Low. An official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview with a level of Advanced Low is required prior to granting licensure upon graduation.
