Liberal Arts: 44 Hours

All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:

• EDFD 203 , required in place of PSY 201 , is counted below in the hours required for certification.
• Three hours of the Creative Spirit component are met within the content of the major and counted below. ENG 201  or ENG 202  is required to complete the Creative Spirit component.
• ART 434  satisfies three hours of the Global Perspective component and is counted below.

Note(s): Sophomore portfolio review

The sophomore portfolio review is for the art & design student who has completed (including current classes) 15 credit hours of selected core art & design coursework. The review is intended to provide feedback on the student’s artistic growth progress. At the review we will be assessing: drawing and compositional skills, presentation skills, ability to discuss and exhibit work and the student’s level of knowledge about current professional activity in his or her program area.

Sophomore portfolio review for Art majors with Licensure: Required after the student has completed ART 103 , ART 104 , ART 105 , ART 200 , ART 260  and in or completed ART 291 . A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in these art and design courses is required to be eligible for participating in sophomore portfolio review. Passing the sophomore portfolio review is a prerequisite to enrolling in junior level courses.
