NURS 300 - Professional Nursing An introductory course that provides foundational nursing knowledge, skills, and practice interventions. The course incorporates principles from the sciences and humanities and emphasizes evidence-based professional nursing practice based on the nursing process. Content focuses on safety and patient care, teamwork and collaborating, using sound nursing judgment, a spirit of inquiry, and principles of human flourishing. A grade of “C” or higher is required. Three lecture hours per week and six laboratory or clinical hours per week. Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website.
Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite: BIOL 249 , BIOL 253 ; MATH 107 with a “B” or higher; NURS 100 , NURS 203 . With prior approval of the prenursing adviser, the student may concurrently enroll in NURS 100 , NURS 203 and NURS 300 . Submission of all current health, CPR and TB documentation is required.
