Liberal Arts: 38 Hours
All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:
- Biology, mathematics, physical science requirements
- 3 hours of the Global Literacy component are counted below in the hours required for the major.
- EDFD 203 is taken in place of PSY 201 in the Individual and Social Environment component and is counted below in the hours required for licensure.

Math leveling work, if needed, replaces the electives and increases the total hours in the degree.

Students seeking teaching licensure must follow eligibility criteria for admission and retention listed in the Cannon-Clary College of Education section of the undergraduate catalog.
The following Praxis II examinations are required for licensure: Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7-12 (0624) and Physical Science: Content Knowledge (0481).
Remaining Bible/Electives: 5 Hours
PHS 410 , counted above in the major, satisfies the Bible requirement in the semester it is taken. It should be taken in the spring of the senior year. Bible is not taken during the supervised teaching semester. If BMIS 280 , BMIS 386 , or BMIS 388 is taken for 3 credit hours it satisfies the Bible requirement during the semester it is taken and 3 hours of global literacy, thereby increasing the electives by 2 credit hours.
