Return to: Interdepartmental Programs The department is responsible for all academic policy, programs, and activities related to academics in the Center for Student Success (CSS). The Chair of the University Studies Department will report directly to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies. The duties and responsibilities of the chair include but are not limited to:
- Supervision of the development, staffing, and scheduling of courses housed in CSS programs (e.g., UNIV, ADVANCE, etc.);
- Academic advising for undecided majors, general studies majors not assigned to a specific college, and other students on an as-needed basis;
- Provision of support to facilitate cooperative education, internship and capstone opportunities for general studies majors;
- Assessment of the effectiveness of CSS courses and programs of study;
- Provision of training in academic advising for faculty;
- Service as a member of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee.
