Requirements

Liberal Arts: 47 Hours

All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:

6 hours of the Global Perspectives component are met by foreign language courses and the hours are counted below in the major.

Major: 31 Hours

At least 31 hours of Spanish (SPAN) courses including 19 upper-level hours, of which at least 7 must be 400-level. The remaining 12 hours may include elementary and/or intermediate spanish.

SPAN 303 - Advanced Grammar Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 313 - Advanced Conversation Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 451 - Senior Seminar Credit Hours: 1

3 hours from (Latin America):

SPAN 311 - Latin American Literature Credit Hours: 3
or SPAN 315 Latin American Civilization Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 325 Regional Language and Culture Credit Hours: 3

3 hours from (Peninsular):

SPAN 304 - Civilization and Culture of Peninsular Spain Credit Hours: 3
or SPAN 401 Peninsular Spanish Literature I Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 402 Peninsular Spanish Literature II Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 435 Literature of the 20th & 21st Centuries Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 436 19th-20th Century Spanish Drama/Poetry Credit Hours: 3

6 additional hours of upper-level electives chosen from:
