Liberal Arts: 47 Hours
- Three hours of the Creative Spirit in the Liberal Arts requirement are met within in the major and counted below.
- ENG 201 or ENG 202 is still required.
- Three hours of global literacy credit are met by MUS 324 and counted below.
Major: 36 Hours
Music major status requires a passing score of 80 percent or higher on the Theory Entrance Exam or MUS 170 with a grade of “B” or higher; and satisfactory performance on the Theory, Keyboard and Principal Applied Performance Evaluations.

- MUS 131 , MUS 132 , MUS 133 , MUS 138 , MUS 141 , MUS 351 , MUS 352 , MUS 353 , MUS 358 , MUS 361 (Majors must participate in a primary music ensemble every semester.)
- MUS 140 - Music Forum (Majors must enroll in and satisfy the requirements every semester.)

Note(s):
Students must take piano every semester for credit until they pass the Piano Proficiency Examination. Six semesters of additional applied study are required.
Students are required to complete a juried, interdisciplinary capstone project as part of this degree.
