Requirements


Liberal Arts: 44 Hours


6 hours of global literacy are counted below in hours required for the major. EDFD 203  is required in place of PSY 201 , and those hours are counted in the major below. POLS 205  must be taken.

Major: 32 Hours


Required hours include 20 upper-level hours, of which at least 8 must be 400-level. In addition, Spanish majors must have at least one course in Latin America (SPAN 311  or SPAN 315  or SPAN 325 ) and one course in Peninsular-based content (SPAN 304 , SPAN 401 , SPAN 402 , SPAN 435  or SPAN 436 ).

During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule a Harding Oral Proficiency Evaluation (HOPE). The accepted passing level is Advanced Low. An official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview with a level of Advanced Low is required prior to granting licensure upon graduation.

Students seeking teaching licensure must follow eligibility criteria for admission and retention listed in the Cannon-Clary College of Education section of the undergraduate catalog.
