French as a Second Teaching Field

Requirements


Students seeking licensure to teach French must complete 27 hours of the language, including the following: 

6 hours in culture, civilization and literature


(a minimum of 3 hours must be culture and civilization)

Note(s):


At least 9 of the total hours must be upper level.

FR 313  is highly recommended.

The official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview is required with an Advanced Low rating.

Students seeking teaching licensure must follow eligibility criteria for admission and retention listed in the Cannon-Clary College of Education section of the undergraduate catalog.
