Requirements

Students seeking licensure to teach French or Spanish must complete 27 hours of the language, including the following:

FR 303 - Advanced Grammar and Composition Credit Hours: 3
FR 433 - Advanced Phonetics Credit Hours: 3
FR 452 - Senior Seminar (Licensure) Credit Hours: 2
or
SPAN 303 - Advanced Grammar Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 433 - Advanced Phonetics Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 452 - Senior Seminar (Licensure) Credit Hours: 2
6 hours in culture, civilization and literature, of which at least 3 hours must be culture and civilization

Note(s):

At least 9 of the total hours must be upper-level.

FR 313 or SPAN 313 is highly recommended.

SEED 419 must also be taken, and the official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview is required with an Advanced Low rating.
