31 hours in Spanish, including:

• SPAN 303 - Advanced Grammar Credit Hours: 3
• SPAN 313 - Advanced Conversation Credit Hours: 3
• SPAN 451 - Senior Seminar Credit Hours: 1
• 12 additional upper-level hours, of which 6 must be 400-level

Students planning to do graduate work in Spanish are encouraged to take additional hours of upper-level courses in the language. In addition, Spanish majors must have at least one course in Latin America (SPAN 311 , SPAN 315  or SPAN 325 ) and one course in Peninsular-based content (SPAN 304 , SPAN 401 , SPAN 402 , SPAN 435  or SPAN 436 ). This selection may apply to the 400-level hour requirement.
