NURS 3000 - Professional Nursing An introductory course that provides foundational nursing knowledge, skills, and practice interventions. The course incorporates principles from the sciences and humanities and emphasizes evidence-based professional nursing practice based on the nursing process. Content focuses on safety and patient care, teamwork and collaborating, using sound nursing judgment, a spirit of inquiry, and principles of human flourishing. A grade of “C” or higher is required. Three lecture hours per week and six laboratory or clinical hours per week. Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 3200/3200L , BIOL 3210/3210L ; MATH 1110 with a “B” or higher; NURS 1000 , NURS 2030/2030L .
With prior approval of the prenursing advisor, the student may concurrently enroll in NURS 1000 , NURS 2030/2030L and NURS 3000 . Submission of all current health, CPR and TB documentation is required.
