CHEM 140 - Freshman Seminar

An orientation to the Department of Chemistry, its faculty and resources. Discussions will include study skills for the sciences, library resources, the different areas of chemistry, career opportunities in chemistry and biochemistry, laboratory safety and chemical hygiene.  Invited speakers on special topics and the perspectives of departmental seniors will also be included. (Students with more than 45 hours may substitute a fourth semester of CHEM 440  for CHEM 140.)
