NURS 300 - Professional Nursing An introductory course that provides foundational nursing knowledge, skills and practice interventions. The course incorporates principles from the sciences and humanities and emphasizes entry-level nursing practice based on the nursing process. Content focuses on safe practice using curriculum strands of critical thinking, Christian principles, leadership, teaching-learning, communication, research, global perspective and the nursing process. A grade of “C” or higher is required. Three lecture hours per week and 6 laboratory or clinical hours per week.
Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite: BIOL 249, 253; MATH 107 with a “B” or higher; NURS 100, 203. The student may concurrently enroll in NURS 100, 203 and 300. Submission of all current health, CPR and TB documentation is required.
