IS 280 - Business Applications Programming


Introduces students to GUI structure and operation, as implemented in Visual Basic. Introduces common control objects and language syntaxes. Reviews and practices traditional procedural program structures and related programming techniques.  Introduces object-oriented programming concepts using Visual Basic.Net as a tool for illustrating and interpreting the concepts. The focus of the course is on developing practical business applications.

Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite: IS 101  or IS proficiency exam and COMP 150  or CENG 150 . COMP 151  or CENG 151  is highly recommended.

Credit Hours: 3

Term Offered: Fall, Spring
