ENG 2800 - Introduction to Women's Studies


This course offers an introduction to women's shared and unshared experience within a Christian context. It explores women's roles while providing an overview of the different disciplinary approaches to the study of the lives of women. The course asks how women's behavior, accomplishments, roles, sexuality, and status have been shaped by aspects such as culture, history, and religion, as well as by ethnicity, race, and class. It also explores relationships among gender and social roles, faith and religion, and career paths. This course provides the foundation for using the women's studies minor in practical, applicable ways throughout the students' academic and occupational careers.
