MENG 4400 - Intermediate Fluid Mechanics


A review of conservation laws and formal development of fluid flow as described by the Navier-Stokes equations and selected solutions of N-S equations. Boundary layer analysis including Prandtl's boundary layer theory and an introduction to turbulence theory. Will include an introduction to computational fluid dynamics and 1D compressible flows.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 4330 , MENG 3400
