COUN 6240 - Modern Models of Counseling/Therapy


A theoretical and pragmatic study of "traditional" or modern models of counseling/therapy. Course content includes the development and progression of systems and family of origin based models, outcomes informed models and applications. Treatment considerations will include individuals (children, adolescents, elderly) and relationships (marital, same-sex couples, blended) within multicultural contexts. The models discussed will include but are not limited to:  Behavioral, Contextual, Experiential, and Intergenerational.
