COUN 6220 - Postmodern and Communication Based Models of Counseling/TherapyA theoretical and pragmatic study of postmodern and communication informed counseling/therapy. Course content includes the development and progression of communication theories, outcomes informed models and applications. Treatment considerations will include individuals (children, adolescents, elderly) and relationships (marital, same-sex couples, blended) within multicultural contexts. The models discussed will include but are not limited to: Collaborative, MRI, Narrative, Solution Focused, Strategic and Structural.
