FLAN 4100 - Foreign Language Teaching Methods and Assessment - Secondary


This course provides an overview of the history and methodology of foreign language teaching in the United States, including the integration of theories of second-language acquisition, various models of assessment, technology and professional standards for communication, culture, comparisons, connections and communities in planning and instruction. The course prepares potential licensure candidates for the Praxis pedagogy test and conducts various line item assessments following the ACTFL Program Standards for the Preparation of Foreign Language Teachers.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Teacher Education Program and EDFD 3110
