CURR 6660 - Special Education Administration Internship IIInternship II (will be a placement in the reverse level of the candidate's first internship) is designed to prepare curriculum program administrators in the specialty core area of special education. The Special Education Instructional Specialist will gain expertise in providing high quality educational support services. This includes expertise in facilitating development of Individualized Educations Plans for multiple learning disabilities, interpreting federal and state legislation and local policies relating to special services, developing budgets and overseeing the use of funds from multiple sources, and accurately communicating with all stakeholders, including parents, regarding the needs of those requiring special services. This field experience will allow the intern to synthesize what has been learned in the classroom while under the supervision and mentoring of experienced on-site curriculum program administrator/supervisor and a University supervisor.
