ENG 3710 - ShakespeareA survey of William Shakespeare's development as a dramatic artist, with a close study of the major comedies, tragedies, and histories, along with discussion of classic and recent film adaptations of the plays. Students will explore Shakespeare in the social, political, religious, and theatrical contexts of Renaissance England and evaluate his continuing relevance to the tastes and concerns of our age. Students will focus in depth on one play per week. Credit Hours: 3 Term Offered: Spring |
