ELED 3170 - Teaching Young Writers


This course will provide instruction in the various areas of the language arts taught in early childhood education. Working from a basis in oral language, theories and processes of writing, stages of writing development, handwriting techniques, and creative writing will be emphasized. In addition, teacher candidates will be given opportunities through both text and modeling to become familiar with assessments that are commonly given in the elementary classroom.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Teacher Education Program.
