BDOC 5470 - Providence and SufferingA study of God's relation to the human predicament. Beginning with contemporary typologies of providence and theodicy (the problem of evil), a careful study of Scripture (Old Testament narrative, Psalms, Job, prophets, Gospels and Paul) culminates in the attempt to formulate a biblical theology of providence and suffering. Attention will be given to significant expressions of suffering, practical reflection on suffering, and the role of prayer in providence. Credit Hours: 3 Term Offered: See annual schedule published in April |
