The B.S. degree in Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary degree between the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Department of Biology. This degree serves as a pathway to a broad range of rewarding careers. Environmental Science gives you an overview of how science affects the environment. The degree provides a strong foundation in the natural sciences, such as biology, chemistry, geology, and ecology. The degree then allows for a choice of upper division coursework which will allow the student to take classes which align to career goals. Prior to graduation, students will complete a capstone project that addresses a specific environmental issue.

Liberal Arts: 35 Hours
All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. Liberal Arts requirements for The Natural World, Global Perspectives, and three hours toward the Individual and Social Environment are counted below in the hours required for the major.

* Selected topics courses in Biology or Chemistry must be approved by the appropriate department chair to count toward this major.
