All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:
Six hours of the Global Perspectives component are met by the foreign language courses.
EDFD 2030, required in place of PSY 2010, satisfies three hours of the Individual and the Social Environment component and is counted below in the hours required for the major.
or any of the aforementioned French courses not used to meet another requirement

At least 20 of the 32 hours must be upper-level, of which at least 8 hours must be 4000 level.
During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule an official telephonic oral proficiency interview. The target rating is Advanced Low.
