Students who hold an Arkansas Teaching License may add this endorsement by satisfactorily completing the 15 hours of Gifted and Talented courses listed below and passing the Praxis II Gifted Education Exam approved by the Arkansas Department of Education. Students not teaching in Arkansas should check with their state department of education for specific requirements for licensure. Admission requirements for this endorsement are the same as the Master of Arts: Excellence in Teaching.

Requirements (15 hours):

SPED 6700 - Introduction to Gifted and Talented Education Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6720 - Curriculum and Instruction for the Gifted and Talented Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6730 - Social and Emotional Needs of Gifted Children Credit Hours: 3
or SPED 6750 - Creativity Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6790 - Internship/Practicum in Gifted and Talented Education Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6810 - Administration and Evaluation of Gifted and Talented Programs Credit Hours: 3
