The department is responsible for all academic policy, programs, and activities related to academics in the University College  (UC). The Chair of the University Studies Department will report directly to the Dean of the University College. The duties and responsibilities of the chair include but are not limited to:

• Supervision of the development, staffing, and scheduling of courses housed in UC programs (e.g., UNIV, ADVANCE, etc.);
• Provision of support to facilitate cooperative education, internship and capstone opportunities for general studies majors;
• Assessment of the effectiveness of UC courses and programs of study.
