Requirements

Liberal Arts: 47 Hours

All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:

6 hours of the Global Perspectives component are met by foreign language courses and the hours are counted below in the major.

Major: 31 Hours

At least 31 hours of Spanish (SPAN) courses including 19 upper-level hours, of which at least 7 must be 4000-level. The remaining 12 hours may include elementary and/or intermediate spanish.

SPAN 3030 - Advanced Grammar Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 3130 - Advanced Conversation Credit Hours: 3
SPAN 4510 - Senior Seminar Credit Hours: 1

3 hours from (Latin America):

SPAN 3110 - Survey of Latin American Literature Credit Hours: 3
or SPAN 3150 Cultures of Latin America Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 3250 Regional Language and Culture Credit Hours: 3

3 hours from (Peninsular):

SPAN 3040 - Cultures of Peninsular Spain Credit Hours: 3
or SPAN 4010 Survey of Peninsular Spanish Literature I Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 4020 Survey of Peninsular Spanish Literature II Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 4350 Literature of 20th & 21st Century Spain Credit Hours: 3

or SPAN 4360 Spanish Drama & Poetry of the 19th-21st Centuries Credit Hours: 3

6 additional hours of upper-level electives chosen from:
