The fully online Master of Science in Information Systems program serves two primary purposes:
1. To prepare graduates for a career change to the IS field.
2. To enhance effectiveness of current business professionals.
The IS discipline bridges the gap between business professionals and highly technical professionals. The discipline is initially broad in scope, as a knowledge of both business and technology is required. As systems thinkers, we believe that value occurs at the points of intersection. Depth can be added at both the technical and business domains to affect greater synergies.
The MSIS is highly flexible because it is designed with the needs of working professionals in mind.
“Data analytics” bridges the gap between the technical expertise of data scientists and the operational expertise of marketing, supply chain, risk, and other frontline managers. “Information assurance and security” provides an overview of the constantly changing procedures and challenges that face this industry sector in the world today. This concentration equips graduates to understand and communicate cybersecurity risks to internal teams and external clients, make sound strategic decisions related to investments in cybersecurity, and understand cybersecurity risk management and reporting frameworks.
