Students who hold an Arkansas Building Level Administrator License with one year of licensed experience as a building level administrator may add this endorsement by satisfactorily completing the 24 hours of District Level Administrator Endorsement courses listed below, orally defending a professional portfolio, and passing the School Superintendent Assessment (SSA) approved by the Arkansas Department of Education. Admission requirements for this endorsement are the same as the Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership.

Requirements (21 hours):

EDFD 647 - Data-Driven Evaluation for School Improvement Credit Hours: 3
EDL 739 - School Personnel Management Credit Hours: 3
EDL 769 - School Finance for District Level Administration Credit Hours: 3
EDL 770 - School Plant and Facilities Credit Hours: 3
EDL 773 - The Superintendency and School Board Relations Credit Hours: 3
EDL 774 - Advanced Leadership and Supervision Credit Hours: 3
EDL 775 - District Administrator Internship Credit Hours: 0, 3
EDT 600 - Chalk and Wire

Electives (3 hours):

This course must be approved by the program director. It is strongly recommended that EDFD 652 - Research Methods be used as the elective course if a recent research course has not been taken. Any courses that were taken as part of another degree cannot be counted toward the district level administrator endorsement’s program of study.
