Liberal Arts: 44 Hours
All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts hours are met within the content of the major:

- POLS 205 is highly recommended to meet 3 hours of the Individual and Social Environment requirement.
Major: 32 Hours
Required hours include 20 upper-level hours, of which at least 8 must be 400-level. Included in the 32 hours Spanish majors must have at least one course in Latin America (SPAN 311 or SPAN 315 or SPAN 325 ) and one course in Peninsular-based content (SPAN 304 , SPAN 401 , SPAN 402 , SPAN 435 or SPAN 436 ).

During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule a Harding Oral Proficiency Evaluation (HOPE). The accepted passing level is Advanced Low. An official ACTFL Oral Proficiency telephonic interview with a level of Advanced Low is required prior to granting licensure upon graduation.
