Bachelor of Ministry (BMIN) degree with major in Bible and Ministry: This is an academic degree commensurate to other baccalaureate degrees awarded by Harding University.
Enrollment in the BMIN Program: All students seeking enrollment in the BMIN program must apply to the director for admission. Criteria for enrollment in the program emphasize personal and moral fitness for ministry, including one’s overall emotional, social and spiritual stability. Students must also be able to communicate effectively through speaking and writing, show general ability and aptitude for work in an accelerated academic program (as reflected on ACT and/or SAT scores, or GPA on transfer hours), and be actively involved in congregational life.
To be provisionally admitted to the B.Min. degree program, a student must:
- Be accepted for enrollment at Harding University.
- File a formal application for admission into the BMIN program.
- Be at least 24 years of age.
- Provide two character references and two religious references, none of which are from immediate family members.
- Provide a plan of financial support for the coming year.
- Complete and submit the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis.
- Submit to a criminal background check, pay the appropriate fees, and sign a waiver to provide this information to Harding administrators.
To achieve full acceptance into the BMIN degree program, a student must:
- Complete 30 hours of college credit, a minimum of 22 hours of which must be general education courses from the Liberal Arts Program , including 6 hours of English composition with a minimum grade of “C.”
- Participate in a progress assessment interview during the first 15-30 hours completed at Harding (with a committee composed of representatives from the B.Min. program) to evaluate academic performance and ministry aptitude.
To remain in the program, a student must:
- Maintain the standards of personal and moral fitness required for admission to the program.
- Maintain a 2.5 grade point average in all courses required for the B.Min degree, and a grade of 2.0 or better in all courses in the Liberal Arts Program .
