First Year Experience and Academic Resources

First Year Experience: The First Year Experience Office works with students during their first year at Harding to ensure students receive the support needed to succeed at the university level. This office also oversees the tutoring program. Tutors are available during the fall and spring terms for a limited number of liberal arts and some major specific courses. The location and times of tutoring will be announced at the beginning of each semester.

Supplemental Instruction: Supplemental instruction (SI) is also offered for selected courses each semester. Courses selected for SI have a history of difficulty for a number of students. Student workers in this program attend the class and then have tutoring sessions for students who choose to participate. Research indicates that this program is very beneficial to students who struggle academically.
