MATH 1100 - Mathematics For The Liberal Arts

Overview of practical mathematical topics including critical thinking, problem solving, numbers in the real world (percentages, ratios, scientific notation, rounding, etc.), personal money management (budget, savings, investing, loans, income tax, etc.), introduction to Excel Spreadsheets, basic statistics (statistical reasoning, graphing data, correlation and causality, measures of average and variation, normal distribution, statistical inference), basic probability, and mathematical modeling.

Does not count toward a major or minor in mathematics.

Credit Hours: 3

Term Offered: Fall, Spring
