NURS 3000 - Professional Nursing An introductory course that provides foundational nursing knowledge, skills, and practice interventions. The course incorporates principles from the sciences and humanities and emphasizes evidence-based professional nursing practice based on the nursing process. Content focuses on safety and patient care, teamwork and collaborating, using sound nursing judgment, a spirit of inquiry, and principles of human flourishing. Submission of all current health, CPR, and TB documentation is required. A grade of C or higher is required. Three lecture hours per week and six laboratory or clinical hours per week. Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 2400/2400L or BIOL 3200/3200L ; BIOL 2405/2405L or BIOL 3210/3210L ; MATH 1110 with a grade of B or higher; NURS 1000 (NURS 1000 may be taken concurrently)
