COUN 6020 - Techniques of Counseling Students will develop an understanding of essential interviewing and counseling skills in a broad range of treatment contexts (i.e. health care, schools, military, private practice, multidisciplinary) so that they will be able to develop a therapeutic relationship, establish appropriate counseling goals, design intervention strategies, evaluate outcomes, and successfully terminate the counselor-client relationship.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Master of Science in School Counseling (MS) program or the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS/EdS) program or permission of the director.
