CHEM 1040/1040L - College Chemistry I

Atomic and molecular structure, chemical periodicity, types of reactions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, nuclear chemistry, gases. CHEM 1040 with a grade of C or higher is prerequisite to CHEM 1050/1050L. This class may make use of the testing center and/or may give exams outside of regularly scheduled class hours.

Three class periods and 3 hours laboratory per week.

Prerequisite(s): Math ACT subscore of 23 or higher, 560 or higher on the Math SAT or credit in MATH 1320 or MATH 1330 or MATH 2300 or MATH 2350 or higher.
