ESL 099 - Advanced Grammar and Writing Based on results of university-approved English proficiency exams such as the TOEFL, IELTS, or others, international students may be required to take this intensive ESL course before entering the regular university curriculum and/or before taking ENG 100 or a higher composition course. Instruction in English grammar and sentence structure, and academic writing skills to prepare students for college or graduate-level work. A grade of “C” or better and successfully passing an English proficiency test are required to exit the course.
