IB 642 - Multicultural Economic Development


Introduces the graduate student to many of the economic, social, political, cultural and environmental dimensions of developing countries and focuses on how businesses can efficiently operate in and trade with these emerging market economies. Opportunities, incentives, and risks are explored for business development in emerging markets. Issues such as traditional cultural differences, poverty, overpopulation, illiteracy, malnutrition, unemployment, inflation, lack of access to credit, and resistance to development are explored in depth.
