COUN 609 - Professional School Counseling


Focus on organization and administration of a variety of components of counseling services in schools including the history, roles, functions and responsibilities of the school counselor in P-12 systems. Additional topics include legal and ethical issues as they relate to professional school counseling, incorporating the ASCA national model. Follows national standards for school counseling programs.

Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Science in Professional Counseling: Clinical and School or the Educational Specialist in Professional Counseling: Clinical and School program or permission of the director.
