COUN 604 - The Clinical and School Counseling Professional: Ethics and Organization


A survey course which explores the history, theories, philosophies, and functions of both school and mental health counselors, it includes professional and ethical issues. This investigation of accreditation, identity, licensure, and roles of professional school and mental health counselors includes collaboration, leadership, and consultation. Attention will be given to initiating, managing and developing guidance and counseling services in the school as well as community clinical mental health settings. (This class meets ASCA standards of practice and is an approved core requirement for licensure by the ABEC and ADE.)
